In search of a movie than playing golf genius?

I spent the last hour trying to find a movie I saw on TV once a long time. He wondered if anyone else can help lol. All I remember of it was a scene of golf. One of the characters was an inventor or genius of mathematics, the ways in which calculates the precise angle and power of the swing to get a hole in one. When it hits the ball, it bounces off a few trees, flies in a city where the ball shoots down an all glass building, bounces, hits a bird in flight and fell into the hole (maybe not necessarily in that order). I think this character also has a golf club that has all sorts of gadgets, but is completely fried. May have been hit by lighting. Caddyshack 2 its not because I just saw that - not a golf club in it, but nothing happens. Based on what I remember, the actor who does all this reminds me of the father in the Honey I shrunk the kids' movie. This film TV was in the mid to late 1990 ...
