Need help planning a backpacking trip through Europe?

Me and a friend wants to go backpacking through Europe. We have a plan, but wonder if it is safe - Only 2 girls. Anyone who does? Thoughts? Are there groups of packages for college students - and through a travel agent or something - we could go through? Then we will have a guide and be with a group of our age? Any helpful advice would be useful experience. Thanks!

A great reasourse Eurotrip.com used it much for my first backpack trip to Europe. We were two girls aged 18 years and it was easy! We did a tour ... really do not need it in Europe, especially with a little planning. Get a guide on Let's Go Europe ... has so much information on trains, planes, hotels, etc. A good way to go is to book your flights as yourself expedia.com or so in a big city like Paris? London? Rome? (Italian men Italy persistent usually harmless to try to befriend so extra caution there) but then to ride a train or bus from there. It will be cheaper and more fun than the tour's all iteneraries www.busabout.com great!
