If you can, make a trip to Varanasi (by train overnight from New Delhi). The longest place continuously inhabited the earth, Varanasi is one of the holiest sites for Hindus everywhere, is yearning to die as Hindus death in Kashi (Varanasi), the immediate release from the cycle of reincarnation. Religion (note: NOT fundamentalism) is a part of all aspects of life in Varanasi, making the city worth worth traveling a few days just to see life. Not far from Varanasi is Sarnath, the cradle of Buddhism. Bon voyage! PS Despite what happened last month, Mumbai is still worth taking the time to. You still is not very secure and is a city that is full of incredible history, architecture, and people.
